Malta Independent Sunday, 1 November 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

The Body Shop in Malta has joined the international campaign started by The Body Shop across the world to Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People, the biggest campaign of its kind, offering the public a chance to be involved and challenge the greatest human rights abuse of the 21st century. By purchasing the Soft Hands, Kind Heart hand cream, customers will be supporting Agenzija Appogg, as one Euro from the sale of each product will be donated by the Body Shops in Malta directly to the Agency. These funds will help Appogg to strengthen its training and support services given to vulnerable children and young adults, and to assist it in disseminating information about human trafficking of children and young people for sexual exploitation.”

Agenzija Appogg, within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, is the national social welfare agency for children, families and communities in need, offering over 25 specialised services in this field. Anyone suspecting acts of human trafficking, and victims, can report to the Police or call on Supportline 179.
