Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications Austin Gatt accompanied by MMA chairman Mark Portelli and MMA CEO Stanley Portelli, together with distinguished guests, enjoyed a pleasant reception on board Azimut Benetti’s latest jewel – The Azimut Magellano 74.
Everyone had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the luxury of the prototype model of the new Azimut Magellano range.
The impressive 23-metre long-range yacht arrived at Portomaso Marina early on Wednesday morning for her planned two-day visit. Sea trials with media personnel, including Yacht&Sail Channel crew and Azimut clients, were carried out in difficult weather conditions.
The Magellano performed magnificently and proved her all-weather capability thanks to her sturdy build and state-of-the-art gyroscopic stabilizers, which eliminated roll and kept her gliding through the lumpy waters elegantly, and with all members aboard comfortable and safely reassured.
The Magellano will end the first leg of her maiden voyage in Viareggio. The second leg of this voyage will commence in January with Lebanon as the first port of call, then onto Turkey, Greece, Croatia and back home to Italy.
