Two Maltese youths, Haithem Laamous and Clint Grech, who are on training in Wales, yesterday started sessions at the Cardiff training station gym, which is owned and managed by Simon Harris.

The boys are gaining valuable experience sparing against top boxers in Wales.

While at the gym, the Maltese boys met Nathan Cleverly, the current British and Commonwealth light heavyweight champion, who is fighting for the European title on Saturday at Wembley arena against Antonio Brancalion. Also on the same bill is the bout between Najah Ali and Michael Walsh.

The Maltese boys had sparring sessions with Najah Ali and Luke Robison (son of Steve Robison, former world featherweight champion).

The MBF thanked Simon Harris for the use of his gym, Nino Spiteri for sponsoring Laamous and Grech and all the MBF’s boxing friends in Wales for their support.
