Fine Dining at InterContinental Malta

Malta Independent Sunday, 7 March 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Michelin Star chef Daniel Galmiche (pictured) will be the first celebrity chef to be invited to prepare a memorable culinary experience for a select number of guests at InterContinental Malta later this month.

The exclusive six-course dinner for no more than a hundred covers, on two evenings on 19 and 20 March, will enable this affable Frenchman to share his passion and culinary excellence with local patrons of InterContinental Malta.

M. Galmiche was recruited last August to be executive head chef at the Vineyard at Stockcross in Berkshire. Apart from writing a regular food column and cooking for many celebrities, he has been a regular on several TV programmes. These include the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Sky TV – the World’s Greatest Dishes and several other BBC programmes.

A stickler for detail who wishes to ensure consistency and quality, he is even getting a member of his team, a pâtissièr, with him for the event. Each course will be accompanied by a different wine.

“Through these fine dining events, we are confident that InterContinental Malta will raise the standard of its culinary offering,” Christopher Gingell Littlejohn, Director of Sales and Marketing at InterContinental Malta, said.

“This is a highly exclusive event and one from which even our own chefs will benefit by observing M. Galmiche and other chefs, like Theo Randall, who is coming at the end of next month, at work. I urge anyone interested to book early to avoid disappointment.”

He has cooked at events around the world, including The Regency InterContinental in Bahrain and has made regular guest chef appearances at Anton Mosimann’s Academy in London.
