Finance, Economy and Investment Minister Tonio Fenech inaugurated Enemalta Corporation’s district office in Xewkija, explaining that the site will also serve eventually as the new site for the 33kV distribution centre being built, meeting the large part of Gozo’s needs.

Qala will also be retained in the network, raising capacity substantially. Enemalta has issued a tender for the provision and installation of the necessary equipment in three distribution centres, including Xewkija, amounting to a total investment of €5.7 million.
