A few people who were waiting at the Valletta bus terminus to board the 81 or 84 bus yesterday afternoon briskly escaped getting run over by a bus which reversed in their direction.

Sources said the driver of the bus did not pull up the hand brake and the bus moved backwards, went over a central strip and crashed against another bus, smashing its windscreen.

Luckily nobody was hurt but the incident caused a commotion, which cleared within minutes. The bus’ departure was delayed by a few minutes until a replacement bus was called in.
