The annual conference of ECAD, the European Cities Against Drugs, is expected to declare strongly for a quality and style of life which do not include the abuse of drugs. The conference is to be held in San Lawrenz between tomorrow and Friday, discussing the theme ‘Empowering Our Citizens to Live Healthier Lifestyles’.

It is being organised by the parliamentary secretariat for local councils and the local council of Pembroke. Local councils in Malta and Gozo are being urged to join ECAD, which aims to reduce drug abuse in Europe. 265 towns and cities in 30 European countries are members; 11 local councils in Malta, including Pembroke, are members.
