Health Minister Joe Cassar confirmed that bad parking at the Mater Dei car park can set you back by €69.88.

Answering an Anthony Agius Decelis (PL) parliamentary question, Dr Cassar blamed the Foundation for Medical Services’s contractor, based on the contract with the foundation.

Sarcastically, Mr Agius Decelis said that if the person who is fined is a good boy, does not offend whoever fined him, and pays on the spot, he/she gets a 50 per cent discount. “Just like at the Monti,” the MP commented.

Again, Dr Cassar said this was a decision taken by the contractor and the hospital authorities had nothing to do with it, although they do not object to the fine being decreased. They would only object if the fine were to go over the agreed €69.88, the minister said.
