Music: Music Matters - Brand new music video from Indigo Darkpsych

Malta Independent Monday, 8 November 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

From the earliest stages of her singing and songwriting career which started at age 14, observers noticed something unique about the way Marvic Lewis sang and expressed herself with honesty and passion, qualities synonymous with an artist who explores in order to express.

Marvic, now known as Indigo Darkpsych, has released her second themed full-length album, called These Are The Roots, following a the first released in 2006 named Struck. Her latest project is a video for Rip it Down, the latest single from the album, so now we can take another visual peek into her dark, gothic, industrial world that we have so far visualized from the themes only musically evoked, as well as in her only other video, for ‘Scarecrow’ in 2007.

Four singles have been taken from These Are The Roots so far; the first soon after the recording of the first four tracks in August 2008 at Spinesplitter Studio, followed by a second the year after. Still Here was released alongside the album and now Rip It Down. The video to the song, scripted by the artist herself, is released online this week and will start appearing on TV music programmes from next week.

This was Indigo’s second experience writing and plotting a script, designing and making costumes and props, directing the filming and the editing a music video following her work on ‘Scarecrow’ from the first album. The album is available at local music shops and Indigo is confident of getting her albums distributed in other European countries in the near future.
