The documentary ‘The Tal Qadi Stone’ by Chris and Maurice Micallef was awarded the Award of Excellence in the ‘Canada International Film Festival’ held this month. Amongst various interpretations forwarded by scholars, this documentary focuses on the interpretation of the unique Tal Qadi stone in a scientific manner. This documentary was aired on One TV in 2007.

The festival is an awards competition that recognises the achievements of filmmakers worldwide. Each year the Canada International Film Festival awards prizes in several competitive categories to celebrate and recognize outstanding achievement in filmmaking, writing and acting, as selected by its official jury.

This year the professional jury gave the Award of Excellence for documentary to The Tal Qadi Stone documentary.

This documentary was also awarded the ‘Best Director Award’ in the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival held in the USA in 2007, and two Awards of Merit for documentary and research in the Best Shorts Competition held in the USA in 2010.
