Fleur-de-Lys Volleyball Club, with the help of the Malta Volleyball Association, are organising the first edition of the Fleur-De-Lys Cup.

This is being held today from 1pm onwards at St Martin's College, Swatar.

Four local teams Valletta San Antonio, Mgarr, Aloysians and organisers Fleur de Lys will take part in this first edition.

Following the draw by Simon Agius, vice president of the Malta Volleyball Association, the first semifinal will be played between Fleur-de-lys and local champions Valletta while the second semi final will see Aloysians Defenders facing Mgarr Volleyball Club.

The winners of each semifinal will play in a final game to win the Cup, while the losing semifinalists will play for the third and fourth placing.

All teams will be presented with a trophy according to their placing while individual awards will also be given to the best overall player of the tournament, best attacker and best defender.

Future plans for this event to be held on an international level are being considered.
