The Superintendence of Public Health said the fast acting herbal slimming tea of the Paiyouji Plus brand, originating in China, is as a precautionary measure not to be consumed, because of the presence of sibutramine, a substance which is not permitted in food.
The superintendence said medicinal products that contained sibutramine were withdrawn from the market in 2010 because evidence showed that such products can have adverse cardiac effects.
