Snooker - Tony Drago Out of Haikou World Open

Malta’s Tony Drago was bundled out of the Haikou World Open yesterday when he lost to Matthew Selt 5-2 in a third round qualifier.

Selt was in dominant mood and his best break was a 79.

Two of the game’s big legends, Jimmy White and Steve Davis were also eliminated in this round.

Both players suffered heavy defeats with Davis losing 5-1 to Ian McCulloch, who knocked in breaks of 74, 75 and 56. White lost by the same scoreline to Sam Baird, who compiled runs of 64, 113 and 82.

Jack Lisowski was another 5-1 loser as he was soundly beaten by Alfie Burden, who knocked in 71, 85 and 103.

In other matches yesterday, Rob Milkins made 80, 55, 82 and 79 in beating Sam Craigie 5-1 while Jamie Burnett came from 3-2 down to beat David Gilbert 5-3.
