Neptunes Seek fourth consecutive win

Malta Independent Saturday, 31 March 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

League leaders Neptunes Emirates will be seeking a fourth straight win today at the Tal-Qroqq Pool as they face neighbours and rivals San Giljan Giuseppe’s in the most important clash of the day.

AT present, Neptunes lead the standings on nine points, followed by Sirens, Sliema, San Giljan and Exiles on six points each. Marsascala have three points and Valletta nil.

It will not be an easy clash for Neptunes as a derby against San Giljan is always keenly contested, but coming fresh from their win against major rivals Sliema in midweek, Neptunes will certainly be motivated to further enhance their chances of lifting the title this year.

San Giljan cannot be ignored, however, and they will certainly do everything within their possibilities to lower Neptunes’ colours for the first time this season.

In the other matches, Sliema and Sirens should win their matches against Marsascala meat.com.mt and Valletta Dhalia respectively to remain as close as possible near the top of the standings.
