Rabat  3

Young Stars 4

Umpires:  Anthony Tabone, Luke Busuttil Leaver

Rabat took the lead in the second minute through Shawn Falzon from a penalty corner opportunity.

After Young Stars did not take advantage of two penalty corners of their own Rabat took a 2-0 lead when Josef Antonelli rounded off a well orchestrated move.

Young Stars settled down and reacted strongly and pulled both goals back when Mark Camilleri scored in the 30th minute and Jonathan Ellul scrambled the ball over the line to equaliSe in the 31st minute.

There was still time for Chris Attard to hit the post for Young Stars just before the half time whistle blew.

The second half produced fireworks.  Rabat took 3-2 lead when they were awarded a penalty stroke in 42nd minute and Charlot Antonelli duly converted.

Young Stars hit back and hit the post twice in the 49th and 53rd minute respectively and drew level in the 60th minute through Christian Bonello.

They went into the lead for the first time in the 63rd minute when a disputed effort by Marvin Vella was originally disallowed and then confirmed after umpire consultation.

Although Rabat pressed hard for an equaliser Young Stars held on to win possibly the most intriguing encounter of the season.

Hotsticks 0

White Hart  2

Umpires:  Paul Brincat, Ray Micallef

A very quiet first period with both sides winning two penalty corners which they did not take advantage of.

Hotsticks created a goal scoring chance in the 28th minute after a fluffed clearance by the White Hart defence and just a minute before half time White Hart missed a good opportunity when they hit the outside of the post from close range.

In the second half White Hart were awarded a penalty corner in the 41st minute after the ball rebounded off a post but to no avail.

From then on, defences were on top until the 61st minute when a well-orchestrated move released Daniel Siefert on goal and he made no mistake to put White Hart 1-0 up.

In the 67th minute Paul Torpiano caught out the Hotsticks defence on the break to put White Hart 2-0 ahead leaving Hotsticks very little time to organise a strong reaction.
