A first half stoppage time goal from Vincent Kompany was enough for City to beat United in the Manchester derby yesterday evening.

And it was also enough to see Mancini’s boys going back to the top of the standings on goal difference with just two matches to go.

In a tense match, it was City who had the last laugh after dominating for most of the time and creating a good number of chances which they failed to convert.

On the other hand, United failed miserably and they rarely appeared dangerous in front of the City goal, never creating a clear chance, even when they pressed for an equaliser near the end.

Earlier, Aguero and Zabaleta had gone close for City before Kompany headed a Silva corner past De Gea to give his side the lead.

In the second half, it was again City who went near through Toure, Barry and Nasri, but there were no more goals.
