Latvia 36

Malta 10

Latvia started the match playing an almost inpenetrable 5-1 defence.

During the first 10 minutes Malta was mostly in possession of the ball but never really created any danger to the Latvian goal.

Malta’s first goal came from Andrew Said for a 7-1 scoreline.

The match slowed down a bit and Malta played better, improving mainly the defensive part and causing a number of two-minute suspensions for their strong opponents.

The first half ended 17-4.

The second half started better and the Maltese lads fought bravely for every ball and created more scoring opportunities and also missing a few clear ones.

The score after 45 minutes was 26-8.

Mamo called a time-out on the 46 minute to give the team a well-earned break and refocus the team’s ideas.

Hereafter, Latvia regained the momentum and finished the match.
