Pool: Malta To take part in the world championships

Malta will be represented in three categories in the Pool World Championships to be held in Blackpool, England, between 24 June and 4 July.

The Men’s team, the Under 21 and the Under 18 teams left Malta today and will be among 12 other countries taking part in these championships.

The Men’s team is made up of Maverick Zammit, Kevin Mercieca, Alex Camilleri, Chris Mills, Mario Brincat, Clayton Castaldi, Wayne Bonnici and Clint Azzopardi.

The Youths’ team includes Scott Muscat, Dylan Cassar, Ryan Falzon, Ryan Pisani, Owen Amato and Dejan Grech.

Lyden Debono, Nicky Spiteri and Neil Goodlip were named in the Under 21 Malta ‘A’ team while Neil Chetcuti, Matthew Galdes and Kane Smith make up the ‘B’ team.

Apart from the team events, each player will take part in the individual competition as well as the World Masters Tournament. The Pool association secretary general, Vincent Degiorgio is leading the Maltese contingent and will once again put forward his candidature for treasurer of the World Pool Federation.
