The Malta Youth team reached the final of the Pool World Championships in Blackpool yesterday but was beaten by a strong England team 8-2.

Malta beat Australia 8-3 in the semi-final but failed in the last hurdle. The Maltese players taking part, led by Ruben Xuereb, were Dejan Grech, Ryan Pisani, Scott Muscat, Owen Amato, Ryan Falzon and Dylan Cassar.

Meanwhile, the Men’s senior team suffered three defeats against Australia (13-8), Ireland (14-7) and Morocco (11-10).
