Waterpolo: Easier Than expected for Sirens

Sirens Ritter Sport 12

Exiles Ferretti 6

(3-2)(3-3) (4-0) (2-1)

It turned out surprisingly easy for the St. Paul’s Bay side, now under the guidance of Marco Risso. Everything fell in place for Sirens after the interval, as they scored four times without reply, to steer clear of their opponents and obtain a very healthy advantage, going into the second match tomorrow.

Exiles held their own till the break, but after converting three man-ups in a row, in the second session, to lie just behind Sirens, at 5-6, halfway through the match, they contrived to miss all their remaining extra player advantages, six in all, as Sirens built up a dominating lead. The last session was just a formality, with both sides missing their man ups, but Sirens were the happier lot, with the final score.

Sirens spread out their scorers, with Csaba Kiss obtaining a hat trick, as did Marthon Toth at the other end, although he also missed glaring chances.
