Ten childcare centres, known as Klabb 3-16, will be opened by October, and nine others by January, Education Minister Dolores Cristina said at the Qormi centre. Those opening by October will be in Victoria and Nadur in Gozo, and in Mellieħa, Rabat, Żebbuġ, Pembroke, Ħamrun, Birżebuġa, Żabbar and Żejtun. Centres will then be opened in Xagħra in Gozo, and in Mġarr, Siġġiewi, Attard, Valletta, Sta Venera, Luqa, Cospicua, Paola, Sliema and Naxxar. Parents or carers can leave children aged between three and 16 after school hours at Klabb 3-16 centres, where various activities are held, including home work. Some 1,100 girls and boys attend the centres in Birkirkara, Mosta, Fgura, Żurrieq, St Paul’s Bay, Marsascala, San Ġwann, Qormi and Floriana.
