Fine for unauthorized postal services

Malta Independent Monday, 12 November 2012, 14:12 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Malta Communications Authority said that it has recently imposed a fine on Mailbox Service Group for having provided postal services without an authorisation.

On 16 October 2012, the Authority issued a decision whereby it imposed a €500 administrative fine against Mailbox Services Group [Mailbox] after the MCA determined that this company had provided postal services without being authorised to do so in terms of the Postal Services Act.

In the decision, MCA warned Mailbox that if it continues to provide a postal service without having the requisite authorisation to do so, then the MCA will undertake further regulatory sanctions appropriate to the circumstances.
