Multi-annual programme of grants 2012-2014

Malta Independent Tuesday, 29 January 2013, 12:45 Last update: about 11 years ago

In the run up to the 2014 European elections, the European Parliament signed a number of framework agreements with potential grant beneficiaries covering the three year period 2012 to 2014, with a view to awarding grants on the basis of an annual call for proposals open to all the framework partners.

EU-Added Value and Citizens' Rights have been identified by the European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission as common communication priorities, and proposals for projects should aim at highlighting these priorities, giving particular emphasis to the role played by the European Parliament as democratically elected representative of European citizens across the 27 Member-States.

Grants may be awarded for actions in the field of television or radio, web-based projects or for specific events. The total amount of grants to be awarded under the framework partnership agreements is currently estimated at € 14.5 million for the 2012-2014 period with € 3 million allocated for the 2014 period.

In order to establish a framework partnership agreement and become partner of DG COMM, applications can be submitted by 30 September 2013 to be eligible for grants in 2014. For the budget year 2014 call for proposals for specific agreements will be published in the four principal areas of activity: television, radio, web and events. The indicative dates for the publication of the calls for proposals for specific agreements has been set for 31st October 2013 with the target submission deadline being 30th November 2013.

Only registered and approved partners (registration deadline 30th September 2013) will be eligible to submit specific projects when the call for proposals is published.
