The Malta Independent columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia was this morning acquitted of fleeing the scene of a traffic incident.
The court also deemed that there was no proof that Ms Caruana Galizia had caused €240 worth of damage to another car, and that she had threatened its occupants.
Ms Caruana Galizia was fined €15 after being found guilty of disobeying police orders, after being instructed to report to a police station for questioning.
In her testimony, Ms Caruana Galizia denied that any accident ever took place.
She spoke of the constant harassment that she encounters in her everyday life, particularly at the hands of Labourites. She said that she was well versed in the type of treatment meted out by the alleged victim.
