Malta Independent Saturday, 11 May 2013, 13:27 Last update: about 11 years ago

Two books, written by former Labour Prime Minister Dom Mintoff 55 years ago, along with the new Dom Mintoff Society emblem were launched at his Tarxien residence this morning.

Josef Grech, on behalf of JG Publishers, said that he was granted permission by Mr Mintoff’s family to publish and issue the books, Malta Ttraduta and 'Britain, Malta and the Socialist International'. The books are accompanied with a CD featuring the voice of Mr Mintoff, who recounts his experiences at the time.

Mr Grech added that plans for a tribute concert to be held in November are in the offing.

He said that next in line to be launched will be three books entitled Malta Issofri (‘Malta Suffers’), Ceddix (‘Don’t Give Up’) and Il-Principji Fundamentali tal-Partit tal-Haddiema (‘Fundamental Principles of the Worker’s Party), penned by Mr Mintoff, along with a CD, will be issued.

Mr Grech pointed out that since former Labour Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici will be 80 in July, he felt that he should publish a book dedicated to him entitled Mintoff u Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici (‘Mintoff and Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici’).

Besides, the Dom Mintoff Society launched its new emblem, which is similar to the one the Labour Party had before having launched its new one last year.
