Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ arrives in local cinemas on 26th June. Adapted from the 2006 bestseller novel, ‘World War Z’ is an action-packed horror movie directed by Marc Forster, partly filmed in Malta last summer.

The upcoming zombie epic, considered to be one of the biggest film productions to hit the Maltese islands, is another project which was assigned to Thomas Smith Group. The Group was in fact appointed the freight forwarding and customs clearance agent for the film production in Malta.

The Freight Forwarding staff at Thomas Smith Group provided uninterrupted assistance throughout the filming. They were responsible for tens of tonnes of incoming shipments from the four corners of the world – America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Thomas Smith Logistics Manager Ramon Azzopardi, added that “the team was enthusiastic to work for such a production. It was indeed a privilege to be involved and entrusted with the daily film rushes which required immediate despatch to London for processing, as required by the industry. This therefore meant 24/7 dedication to coordinate effectively”.

At the end of the filming in Malta, Thomas Smith wrapped three Antonov AN12 military aircrafts and a series of trailers to the United Kingdom, the next filming location.
