Malta Independent Friday, 14 June 2013, 11:28 Last update: about 11 years ago

The setting amongst the lavish pool area of the Merkanti Beach Club at the Hilton Malta provided the perfect atmosphere for Opel to introduce its newest addition.

Four Opel Mokka cars draped in a semi transparencies waited to be unveiled whilst guests and journalists were greeted in the relaxed evening atmosphere.

Mr Ryan Buttigieg, General Manager at Cars International Limited opened the proceedings with the following speech:

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the directors and management of Cars International we welcome you to this event!

We are here because we wish to share with you a grand moment and we are very grateful that you have accepted our invitation. This is a very special occasion for Cars International and Opel and we are eager to celebrate it with you as we launch Opel’s newest creation that is taking Europe by storm.

Adding further to the significance of this event is the fact that in just a couple of weeks from today, on the 1st of July, Cars International celebrates its 2nd anniversary since its inception. Cars International is the brainchild of the directors of the Tumas and United groups and it makes me very privileged to be part of its management team. Together with the rest of the management team we thrived in bringing together the experience and knowledge of two supreme industry forces into one solid organisation to serve the myriad of esteemed clients.

Cars International strives to live its motto ‘Your Force in Motion’, to date, we have launched a number of new models in each segment of the market offering varied motorised solutions to a diverse clientele. In having the opportunity to motorise over 1,500 new drivers with our cars over the past two years we continue to reinforce our maxim. Yet Cars International is not about selling cars. We aim to deliver an experience, the peace of mind of a reliable service and the surety of available back up to all drivers out there driving over 15,000 of the oldest to the newest vehicle from our range. This is the energy and force that propels us, the opportunity to continuously serve customers to the best of our abilities ensuring they are mobile.

But coming to today, we invited you here to witness the introduction of a new name and a new segment for Opel.

Upon the release of the first photos of its new dynamic, sub-compact sports utility vehicle, Opel received resounding feedback of success. Since its world premiere at the Geneva motor show on March 2012, the new Opel Mokka gathered immense following and prominence. Opel was the first German manufacturer to launch a contender in the growing sub-compact SUV segment. Following its market launch less than six months ago, Opel confirmed over 100,000 orders for Mokka already.

The Mokka is very different to its competitors, it is small in size but big in attitude. We are proud to be showing you a car that is perfectly designed for the urban environment while retaining typical SUV traits. As a compact SUV, the Mokka it is a car for every day and for every use and very ideal for the Maltese islands.

I shall limit myself to saying very little about the new Mokka as I am sure that once revealed it can say more for itself.

The new Opel Mokka is self-confident and nonconformist. It is the ideal partner for all those who are assertive and different and so stand out from the crowd. In a world defined by conformity, the Mokka driver lives out his or her individuality with the car. It is not his or her style to blend in with the crowd. The Mokka is the right car to fulfil the desire for individuality and self-confident attitude

Therefore ladies and gentlemen, we invite you to switch your life from repeat to shuffle, to witness for yourselves Opel’s new statement, to explore the redefinition of SUV and take the driving seat to distinctiveness. We invite you to be strikingly different and don’t blend in.

Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW OPEL MOKKA”
