A group of ‘Yoyo kids’ took centre stage at the official launch of Yoyo Kids Childcare Centre at Skyparks Business Centre yesterday evening.

“On the occasion of the official launch of the childcare centre we wanted the kids who attend the centre to do the honours and officially inaugurate the place.” said Gianni Zammit, Director at MiChild Ltd “the centre is essentially all about the kids and at the end of the day unless they were here we would not be in operation!” he added.

Yoyo Kids Childcare Centre opened its doors earlier this year. Strategically located within a business park and on route to most of the major business zones on the island, YoYo Kids was set up to cater to the demands of busy working parents. “Being business people ourselves we know the demands on our time, the need for flexibility. Being a father myself, I know how important it is to have the support infrastructure in place to allow me to cater for client requests that happen at the eleventh hour. It is the reality of the world we live in, work demands have increased and flexibility and support is crucial in order to be able to achieve a good work and life balance. We set up Yoyo kids with this in mind, and whilst the children are our first priority, our aim is to provide a service that facilitates the parents’ busy schedules” said Gianni.

At a small event to mark the official launch of the Childcare Centre yesterday, Gianni thanked all the kids and their respective parents who have placed their trust in Yoyo Kids and supported the new venture, as well as Dorianne Buhagiar, who heads the childcare centre and has been the driving force behind the project since inception.

The investment is the childcare centre is evident as soon as you walk through the doors. The state of the art facilities includes custom designed play areas and various age-appropriate zones to cater for learning and development. Covering over 665sq, the centre is large, airy and bright and can cater for up to 85 kids. Dorianne, who has over 12 years’ experience in childcare and is a certified childcare professional, has put forward an organized learning and development program for Yoyo based on the principles of the Gardner Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the Montessori Philosophy and Practices.
