Manchester United have upped the stakes in their bid to sign Cesc Fabregas, The Mirror reports.
Manager David Moyes is prepared to break the club’s transfer record after making a new £30million, plus add-ons, offer to lure Fabregas from Barcelona
And Fabregas will be told by United that he can double his £100,000-a-week wages by moving to Old Trafford this summer.
The midfielder will consider a switch if Barca accept a bid and is now waiting to see what develops.
Fabregas’ Barcelona contract runs to 2016 and includes a £25m buy-back clause for his former club Arsenal.
Apart from offering Fabregas the chance to take over from Paul Scholes, United would also be prepared to put the Spaniard in line with his ex-Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie and pay him around £200,000-a-week.
