Home Affairs Minister Manwel Mallia has asked the police commissioner to find out what led to German police officers in Malta on an exchange to sunbathe on a police dinghy at Mellieha.

The picture surfaced on Facebook this morning.Bikini-clad German police officers were pictured at Mellieha Bay on Thursday sunbathing on two ALE police dinghies.

The members of the German police force are currently in Malta undergoing an attachment programme along with the Malta Police Force.

In a statement, the ministry said Dr Mallia was not impressed with the photo and was not of benefit to the image of the corps, and asked the commissioner for an explanation
