The Civil Protection Department has just acquired a fleet of nine brand new Hyundai i20 cars which will be used during its operations.
“Hyundai Malta is proud that the Civil Protection Department opted to upgrade its fleet of cars with Hyundai’s i20 model,” Francesca Mamo, managing director of Meridien Enterprises, representatives of Hyundai in Malta, said.
“Apart from its intuitive interior designed with high quality materials and plenty of space for the driver and all passengers, the Hyundai i20 proves that smaller city cars can be equally comfortable and flexible.
“Packed with a full array of clever technology and smart features, the i20 is renowned for its highly efficient engine, delivering low CO2 emissions and impressive fuel economy,” Ms Mamo added.
Prior to the delivery of the cars, Hyundai Malta entrusted Hundar to carry out the full conversion of the cars in the new signage and specific rescue vehicle accessories.
Simon Bugeja from Hyundai explained that the conversion also included the installation of an automatic navigation system that guides responders to the scene and sirens, apart from other features. The LEDs being used are the latest 3rd generation high-power LEDs which are situated in the light bar and in the dash light and all accessories are fully controlled by a hand-held device installed in the vehicle.
