Early this morning at around 3.30am a group of irregular immigrants arrived in Malta, the police said.

They were assisted by the Armed Forces of Malta who escorted them to Hay Wharf. Later the immigrants were taken to the Police General Headquarters for further investigations.

The group consisted of 86 persons – 65 men, 17 women and 4 minors.
