Faculty of Education Doctoral Seminars: Open invitation to doctoral students

Malta Independent Wednesday, 28 August 2013, 11:23 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Faculty of Education’s Doctoral Programme invites all those reading for a Ph.D. in education with universities other than the University of Malta to contact the chairperson, Professor Ronald G. Sultana ([email protected]) to register their interest in participating in, and contributing to, the series of advanced research seminars that are organized on a regular basis.

The Doctoral Programme has this year run a series of seminars where students presented their work in front of colleagues and Faculty staff, benefiting from feedback beyond that provided by their supervisors. It has also launched a series of weekend seminars focusing on advanced educational theory and research methodology, helping participants engage with currents of philosophical and sociological thought that are driving contemporary debates in education.

The Faculty of Education now wishes to open up these fora to a wider group of Ph.D. candidates. Registering for the Doctoral Seminar series not only provides new opportunities for discussing one’s research and work-in-progress, but also helps the Faculty make better use of the available expertise that is being built up in Malta in the field of the educational sciences.
