Marsascala Family Park reopening imminent

Malta Independent Thursday, 12 September 2013, 13:45 Last update: about 11 years ago

Environment Minister Leo Brincat today reiterated his pledge to reopen the Marascala family park “in the coming days.”

“We have no intention of dragging our feet on the issue. There are certain health and safety measures that need to be addressed at the park before it is reopened,” Mr Brincat told The Malta Independent.

The park was closed down in July following a report saying that it should be declared temporarily out of bounds due to emissions from the adjacent Sant’Antnin waste treatment plant.

The Opposition has claimed that the closure of the park was politically motivated, with the government countering that certain management issued needed to be addressed.
