Social Dialogue Minister Helena Dalli told delegates of an international conference on the rights of LGBT persons in the Mediterranean that Malta is a model in the region where equality and the rights of LGBT persons are concerned.

She referred to initiatives already taken by the government, including civil code amendments recognising the sex of sex change persons and said she would be working to improve the support for the rights of LGBT persons in Europe and the Mediterranean.
