Broadening horizons

Malta Independent Friday, 11 October 2013, 17:39 Last update: about 11 years ago
A group of comprising Malta's leading travel agencies on Wednesday enjoyed a most interesting ship visit and lunch on board the Horizon during her call at the Valletta Cruise Port.
The Horizon is a newly-refurbished cruise ship which together with its sister ship, the Zenith shall be offering 12 different cruise itineraries (mostly Malta-to-Malta) between June and September of 2014. The programme is unusual and thus offers a rich variety of cruises ranging from 3 to 14 nights covering a total of 34 ports of call across virtually the whole Mediterranean. For the first time ever, Maltese can now reach from Valletta places as far flung as Morocco, South Spain and Gibraltar on one side of the Mediterranean and South west Turkey on the other. Of course there are also comprehensive itineraries up the Adriatic with calls at Venice as well as Croatian and Montenegrin ports, as well as cruises to the Greek Islands (including Mykonos and  Santorini) and Turkey. For those keen on exploring new places in the Western Med, there are also programmes offering exciting islands such as Sardinia, Corsica and Menorca and even (programmes to) Spanish ports such as Alicante and Palamos.
Cruise prices are record-breaking low for a summer season and range from euro399 for a 3-night cruise to euro1199 for a 14-night cruise - and this on an all-inclusive basis meaning that port taxes and most drinks are also included in the price! Excellent quality of the on-board facilities, service, food and shows are guaranteed by the fact that CDF is the French sister company of the well-known Pullmantur Cruises - both brands owned by the giant Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd Group.
