Irpinia wines take Asia by storm

Malta Independent Friday, 18 October 2013, 10:13 Last update: about 11 years ago

I Capitani wines from the Irpinia region in Italy are taking the Asian market by storm, During a very recent participation at the Food and Wines International Fair 2013 in Daejeon , South Korea their two selections were rewarded by the prestigious Berlin Wine Trophy Commission with two GOLD MEDALS.

Both these great  wines are blends.  The Eme’ is a unique wine from an area of Italy that rarely does blended varieties. The grapes used here are Aglianico, Piedirosso and Sangiovese and the aromas include soy sauce, cola, root beer and barbecue sauce. A little strange and probably not for everyone.

On the other hand the Faius is a fascinating blend of Greco, Fiano and Falanghina (the great white grapes of Campania) is aged 8 months in oak to produce a thick, creamy wine, with spicy intensity and a candied fruit note. Notes of honey, butterscotch and apricot all play supporting roles

I Capitani wines are today a mirror image of the beauty of the of Irpinia. These fine wines are exclusively imported and distributed in Malta by CG Trading Limited of The Landmark, Qormi  and are found in the island’s top restaurants and wine bars. – info @cgtrading.eu -  997821009 – 21 44 1415.
