Civil unions: Deeper into the abyss – Josie Muscat

Malta Independent Monday, 21 October 2013, 10:16 Last update: about 11 years ago

Far right politician and former PN MP Josie Muscat totally disagrees with adoption by gay couples. He does not agree with gay people adopting individually, let alone as a couple. Speaking to The Malta Independent on Sunday, Dr Muscat said that the Civil Union Bill will take the country further down into the abyss. “It will continue to destroy the concept of family, that is, if we still believe in the family.”

He believes that it is the children who will suffer from such a development. There are, he said, many questions that need answering. “If a gay couple adopts children, who will be the father and who will be the mother? The Bill does not specify this.”

Dr Muscat insisted that our children will suffer “because we want to be more modern and European.” He asked: “What’s next? Will we give gay couples the right to use IVF? Will we introduce abortion as well? The faster we destroy the society we live in, the better, so we can start again from scratch.”
