Girls’ Night Out brings in €1,000 for Breast Cancer Research

Malta Independent Tuesday, 12 November 2013, 14:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Point organised a fabulous girls’ night out on September 18th which helped the shopping complex collect €1,000 for the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation in just three hours.

Just a fortnight before October, which is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness month worldwide, The Point organised a night out full of shopping, fun events, and fantastic offers within its premises.
Kicking off at 7.30pm and ending at 10.30pm, customers were given a pink rubber bracelet against a donation for the cause. This bracelet was then shown at participating outlets in order for shoppers to get special offers on many purchases, including on the latest fashion, jewellery and homeware collections.

Goodie bags were also given out to attendees, and a myriad of competitions saw many customers celebrating their luck. Bands Skarlet and Peter & Papps featuring Gianni, rocked The Point’s shoppers as they moved from one outlet to another or mingled in the common areas.

All the money collected has since gone to the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation, an organisation that continuously works to reach the European guidelines for quality assurance in breast cancer screening and diagnosis in Malta and Gozo. It is hoped the funding of this kind will help to ensure more and more women are assured of an early breast cancer diagnosis, and thus better chances of survival.

The Point would like to extend their thanks to the hundreds of women (and even a few men!) who made their way to The Point on the night to support the cause, making this a resounding success.
