Malta Independent Monday, 18 November 2013, 13:45 Last update: about 11 years ago

As the works on the highly anticipated Life Sciences Park continue according to the stipulated timeline, the Major Projects Coordinating Agency is proud to launch the Park’s webportal – www.lifesciencespark.com, an online presence developed and designed by NIU Ltd which is a true showcase of the project’s work flow and includes a photo gallery with past and present work, site plans, concepts and spaces, while acts as an essential reference point and information tool for all parties interested in being a part of this project.

The prestigious 11,000sqm site set in a park-like space, is strategically located nearby the island’s main recently built hospital, a new Oncology Centre and the University of Malta. This fast evolving zone is designed to inspire and support the development of both emerging and existing technology oriented enterprises, inventors and entrepreneurs and assists in making business competitive in the global market.

The Park’s goal is to intensify cooperation in the areas of education, research and innovation by providing state of the art infrastructures, creating access to scarce expertise and increasing access to grants and funds. Ultimately, The Life Sciences Park represents a focal point connecting university students, researchers, lecturers, hospital professional staff and industry to interact and establish new technology and research-based firms as well as clusters.

‘We are pleased to confirm that everything is going according to plan while timelines are being respected. To date talks are being held with a number of interested investors and we are certain that our online presence will continue to attract more potential tenants to our islands’ commented Mr. Jimmy Magro, Executive Chairman of the Major Projects Coordinating Agency, which is responsible for the project.

The Life Sciences Park is a €35 million project, co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund.
