Bethlehem f'Ghajnsielem opens for public

Malta Independent Sunday, 15 December 2013, 12:08 Last update: about 12 years ago

The nativity village known as Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat.

Numerous attractions are on offer, ranging from carpenter and blacksmith houses, a market selling natural fruits, fresh fish and vegetables, a stable hosting animals, and of course a grotto with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. New additions for this year will include the local crafts area and a family residence built in the same style of Judea of 2000 years ago.

The atmosphere and experience once again promises to be unique... fresh water will be flowing around these structures through a small river. Thirsty visitors will be able to enjoy a tipple at the tavern, coupled with local food. It is worth remembering that the nativity village is just a 5 minute walk away from Mgarr Harbour therefore several Maltese and foreigners are expecting to visit the event during December.

Bethlehem f'Ghajnsielem is being organized by an organising committee that includes Ghajnsielem Local Council, the Ministry for Gozo, together with the local NGOs and Ghajnsielem Parish.

It will be open Monday 16 December from 9.30am and noon, Thursday 19 December between 9.30am and noon, Saturday 21 December between 4.30pm and 8.30pm, Sunday 22 December between 2pm and 7.30pm, Wednesday 25 December between 2.30pm and 8.30pm, Thursday 26 December and Friday 27 December between 4.30pm and 7.30pm, Saturday 28 December between 4.30pm ad 8.30pm, Sunday 29 December between 2pm and 7.30pm, Wednesday 1 January between 2.30pm and 8pm, Saturday 4 January between 4.30pm and 8pm and on Sunday 5 January between 2pm and 8pm.
