Sleeping Beauty – Recorded from the Bolshoi Theatre

Showing from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow is Sleeping Beauty, a timeless fairytale and a truly classic ballet. Showing exclusively at the Eden Cinemas on Friday 27th December at 16:00, the spectacular repertoire was first choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1890 and then revived by Yuri Grigorovich back in 2011. With music by Tchaikovsky, the stunning masterpiece is sure to delight the entire family as well as dance enthusiasts who are able to appreciate the technicalities of such choreography.  

Sleeping Beauty tells the captivating story of Princess Aurora as she is cursed at birth by evil fairy Carabosse. Descending into a deep slumber on the day of her 16th birthday, only the kiss of a handsome prince will awaken the young princess. Based on Charles Perrault’s classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty has been hugely successful since its premiere and is considered to be one of the most popular and accomplished choreographic works of all time. Showing for one night only, this world famous love story is definitely the perfect choice this Christmas season.

Giving the audience that authentic feel of the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia, Eden Cinemas uses dimmed theatre lighting which continues to transform the evening into a fabulous and magnificent experience. Being shown on a large screen, each movement is beautifully captured. Truly bringing this dazzling performance to life, audiences pay just a fraction of that charged overseas for theatre tickets.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are being sold at the reduced price of €18 for adults and €10 for individuals under the age of 16. Student Smart Cards and Culture Cards may also be used to purchase tickets. Making the evening a night to remember, the audience is offered a complimentary glass of wine, complimentary parking and a 25% discount at Waterbiscuit upon presentation of their ticket.
