Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd - Outcome of the Recycling Programme

Malta Independent Thursday, 19 December 2013, 10:27 Last update: about 11 years ago

Following the Distribution and Recovery Programme carried out last September, the weight of books that Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd recycled this year amounted to 107 tons which is equivalent to five, 20 feet containers. In total 59,326 books were recycled.

The amount of old copies recovered equates to about 31% of the new edition the company distributed. Since the distribution department was set up, Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd have saved a total of approximately 850 tons of paper from entering Malta’s landfills. This year the books were sent to a recycling plant in Pakistan.

“These results are only achievable because of the wholehearted participation of the general public both in Malta and Gozo. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their contribution in our recycling scheme and for making it a success.” Nicholas Diacono Distribution and Premises Manager.
