The competition had been launched in October by the Tourism Minister in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority and the Institute of Professional Photography.

The best 50 photos are being exhibited until the end of this month at the premises which host the tourism ministry.

The head of the Malta Tourism Authority, Josef Formosa Gauci, said that the idea behind the compteittion was to give the public the opportunity to show off his/her talent in phtotography.

The winners were presented with weekend breaks while the winner, the photo of which was taken under water was presented with a free trip for two to a European destination of his choice courtesy of Malta’s national carrier Air Malta.
