Malta never had industrial policy, minister tells Italian counterpart

Malta Independent Saturday, 1 February 2014, 08:47 Last update: about 13 years ago

An industrial policy, something which has never existed in Malta before, is being finalised, Economy Minister Chris Cardona told Italy’s Minister for Economic Development, Flavio Zanonato.

The two met after a ministerial meeting in Rome and agreed on organising a business visit by Maltese entrepreneurs to Italy to explore new business possibilities. Dr Cardona said the Maltese government is urging local enterprises to follow a ‘Born Global’ concept, so as not to limit their vision to the local market.

Minister Zanonato accepted an invitation to make an official visit to Malta.
