Dr Muscat met Vice-Minister Yu Hungjun and Chinese Ambassador to Malta Cai Jinbiao at the PL headquarters in Hamrun.

The Prime Minister insisted that China-Malta relations, which improved greatly in a short period of time, will lead to economic growth, an increase in commerce and more jobs in both countries. More opportunities will present themselves in the future.

The Chinese Vice-Minister said Malta has an important role in the central Mediterranean. Despite the “complicated” international scenario, Malta and China have maintained excellent relations.  Mr Hungjun said that Malta and China can collaborate further in the economy and energy sectors in the coming months.
