Petition to stop gay marriage law and gay adoptions

Malta Independent Wednesday, 2 April 2014, 07:15 Last update: about 11 years ago

On behalf of a great number of Maltese citizens, Gordon-John Manche' who heads the River of Love Christian fellowship group, will be presenting a petition in with over 10,000 signatures to get the present Government’s attention and stress once again that over 80% of MALTA & GOZO do not want the law concerning gay couples adopting and the law concerning the present proposed law for Civil Union to go ahead.

The purpose of this event is to "to get the attention" of the parliament so that they are being asked to "put on the breaks" concerning this law.

“We are further encouraged that the honourable and admirable President of Malta refused to sign this law in action,” a statement said.

Should this law concerning "gay-couples adopting and the present proposes law for Civil Unions are being presented, we the Maltese people will be going to Referendum against these proposed law!
It is unheard of, that where in a country where over 80% of the people of Malta and Gozo are against these issues, that people in power continue to press on with it! This is no longer democracy...but subtle in your face dictatorship!

The 10,000 signatures were collected in less than 4 weeks and so we are more than confident that should we need to, the necessary signatures for referendum will be easily collected in little time!
