6PM was the main sponsor during The Dementia Challenge 2014 held at The Mermaid, City of London held on April 8.

The conference was organised by GovToday and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in the UK. During the conference 6PM promoted ConCERT-D, an electronic care record system for dementia that manages clinical research developed by clinicians for clinicians.

The Dementia Challenge Conference is for those that live with, work with or are affected by dementia. Delegates were updated on the latest developments in the fight against this most devastating condition. A line up of expert speakers and contributors highlighted the current situation, advances in work in progress and the future outlook and aspirations.

The aging population world-wide is leading to a rise in the number of people living with dementia. The impacts are far reaching for individuals and all elements of society. In England there are currently 670,000 sufferers, costing the economy £23bn per year. It is estimated that one in three over 65 will develop the condition prompting the need for action.

ConCERT-D is an advanced clinical solution designed to manage dementia patients and dementia research that is being developed by 6PM together with the West London Mental Health Trust (WLMHT). ConCERT-D will be used to hold all the information regarding dementia treatment for a patient at a very granular level and therefore providing detailed dashboard and information for the clinician. It will also act as recruitment and management tool for any UKCRN research study as it holds details for patients assembled through community organisations and service structures as well as through specialist services.
