37,653 patients visited local health centres in December 2013, out of which 284 individuals were referred to the Emergency department in a span of two weeks between 15 and 31 December 2013. In January of this year, a total number of 40,003 patients visited local health centres, out of which 487 were sent to the emergency department.

This was stated by Health and Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi in a reply to a parliamentary question made by Nationalist MP Claudio Grech.
