It was all quiet in Xemxija throughout the day, quite a difference from the previous day when all focus was on whether former Libyan PM Ali Zeidan was residing in an apartment there.

As the news broke on Daphne Caruana Galizia’s website on Sunday morning that Zeidan was in Malta in spite of a travel ban, the government immediately rushed to quell the news, saying that Zeidan was not in Malta.

It however would not disclose the name of the person or persons who were being guarded by members of the security services, citing matters of national interest.

The amount of “activity” outside the apartment in question was abnormal, as security officers were stationed outside the building.

It was a completely different story today, as the security officers were not present on site and all seemed to have returned to normal.

As for “who” was, or still is, in Xemxija, the mystery might remain such.
